Digital Matter Embedded is a Microsoft Certified Partner and has more than 10 years of experience in software development. We write and support software for our partners, as well as develop software for our own products. Because our roots are in embedded engineering we are well experienced in firmware development on microcontrollers, as well as building embedded Linux and CE kernels.
With all major hardware vendors standardising their Operating Systems to Microsoft platforms we have the ability to develop and deploy solutions quickly and cost effectively using our tried and tested solution toolkits. Solutions are also 'future-proofed' as new releases are compatible with previous versions. Our developers have extensive C#, SQL and .Net Framework experience enabling us to deliver practical user friendly solutions to embedded and smart client devices and systems.
Web and E Commerce
Although not our core business, Digital Matter Embedded has experience in building web solutions for various applications. Most recently, we designed and built an e-Commerce site that will be used to sell our GPS Log Book products. All web development is done using ASP.NET, Java script etc.
We use Microsoft SQL databases to store data gathered from our range of remote devices and to save system configuration data. This allows for centralised management and reporting using a powerful and flexible database platform.
The data that is gathered from remote devices is accumulated into central servers and databases and the analysis and reporting on this information is a vital part of the complete solutions we offer. Digital Matter Embedded develops reports using a variety of tools including Microsoft Reporting Services.
Integration and Hosting
We have integrated our technologies with many different systems. The main means of integration used is XML and Webservices. We also have experience in integration with CRM.
In addition to system integration, we are able to set up and configure highly redundant, failsafe hosting environments using the latest Microsoft technologies and have done so for CFS Rica in South Africa.
Some of the technologies used include:
